1/52 – Boudoir Photography for her Boyfriend for Valentine’s Day

If you haven’t read my blog post about the changes I’m making in the 365 project, you should read about it here. It explains my reasoning behind the change from to 52. This is the first entry of the project.

Boudoir for Valentine's Day

Alex is a gorgeous girl who wanted to surprise her boyfriend overseas with a sexy boudoir photoshoot for Valentine’s Day. Obviously Valentine’s Day is not here yet but it slowly approaching and a sexy photoshoot is an awesome way to get your significant other excited and missing you. Especially when the boyfriend is not near you; you’ve gotta keep the excitement and passion alive. I believe doing a sexy photoshoot is a perfect way to rekindle the desire and passion between a couple who has not seen each other for a while. Especially when the present is a surprise and the boyfriend does not expect it at all.

She did great during the photoshoot and had her beautiful hair and makeup done professionally by Eric David.

Valentine’s Day

Vday has come and gone and with this “holiday” many love and romance inspired photos came up all around the social media. No difference here. I got a chance to take a couple of cool V-Day photos these past 2 weeks. As you have seen in my previous post, the V-Day thing began for me on a darker note with blood thirsty man-eaters. This time, I went soft and light for these photos, leaving them more sensual, romantic, and maybe even slightly erotic (in a PG-13 sense at least?). I’m going to begin with another conceptual piece I did. I have to admit I have never had as hard of a time editing as I have with this one. It did not turn out exactly the way I imagined (although close) and my perfectionist self is not entirely satisfied with it. However, I believe I will learn with time to make photo manipulation look even more realistic. Selfish Cupid

I also did some boudoir/lingerie shoots solo for these two lovely ladies. Only my 3rd time shooting lingerie (the time before that was A YEAR ago for Vday as well). These turned out much better than last year’s works I did. Guess we do get better with time? :)

Hey, man-eaters!

I finally did a shoot I’ve been wanting to do for about a month, which also marked a start of a string of shoots I’m doing this month. This might be my busiest month, photography-wise, thus far. I’m liking it quite a bit. The concept I did on Thursday is called “Man-Eater pt 2″. Number two becuase I’ve already done one photo with this title which had a similar concept but it was a self portrait. Here’s the photo of the original one I did.
Man Eater

This one was also one of the first conceptual pieces I did that played around with the idea of blood and gore. I’ve been pretty mesmerized with the concept ever since. Funny thing is, I hate blood and gore in real life. I can’t even watch horror movies with gore and guts (so basically almost none of the R rated horror movies) because I get so grossed out. But then when I create concepts out, I love using blood and weird, creepy, gory concepts. The artistic me is completely different from real-life me, I suppose.

Anyways, as for every recent conceptual idea I do, I drew out the concept first and wrote out notes and stuff in my little artsy journal. I find that if I draw the concept out, exactly the way I see it in my head, I am more successful with recreating the image later on.  Continue Reading
