In the second edition of Virtual Book Club we are reading The War of Art by Steven Pressfield. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to sign up and RSVP for free!
We’re on to the second page for the Book Club – if you have not seen the replay of the first live event, where we discussed Danielle Laporte’s The Fire Starter Sessions, you should go ahead and watch it right now! It’s filled with great conversation, fun, and some nice and pretty quotes for your social media pleasure (they’re totally share-worthy!). PS. If you are already signed up from the previous call, you don’t have to re-apply for this selection. Once you’re in, you’re in until you leave.
The second selection for our Virtual Book Club for Entrepreneurs is “The War of Art: Break Through the Blocks and Win Your Inner Creative Battles” by Steven Pressfield. I’m excited to read this one ever since it’s been suggested by Marie Forleo. I downloaded it onto my Kindle a while back and I’ve been waiting to read it for a while – it’s also the book that got the most votes and the most common pick in suggestions so it’s clear that everyone is super excited to read it too.
Now, a little more about this book…

How does the Virtual Book Club work?
You read the book. You get excited. You think about it. You can take some notes along the way or highlight stuff or whatever it is that gets your mind whizzing. Then we meet online and talk about it. There will be a Google Hangout on Air hosted right here on the Book Club page. You will be able to follow along as we discuss the book and give you questions you can answer during the Live Chat that will going on along with the video.
Who will be on the Google Hangout? Good question – maybe it’s you? No, I’m serious. Would you like to co-host the Book Club with me? Each event will have 3-4 co-hosts in addition to me being the host. Are you interested? It’s a great way to get yourself in front of a new audience in a fun way, while discussing great concepts and talking about your business and life how it relates to the book. Interested? Make sure you are on the Special Book Club C0-Hosts List! I would LOVE to have you Don’t worry if you can’t make it one month, you don’t have to co-host if you are picked and it doesn’t work for your schedule. But it’s always good to have the option to, right? Sign up here! The Co-Hosts signed up will be getting an email to express interest and their reasoning for getting picked around August 25, 2014.
You meet new entrepreneur friends. Maybe find your new virtual BFF? You drink some wine (or tea, or whatever it is you like to drink during a Book Club). And you discuss! Ohhh yes, just imagine the flurry of engaged conversation, new ideas sparking, and who knows – maybe you’ll have a huge A-ha moment that enhances the course of your work forever?
The Entrepreneurial Virtual Book Club will be taking place approximately every 2 months. We are all busy and I wanted to make this realistic. Stuff happens, things get in the way. You might not have enough time to read a book in one short month (there’s never enough hours in the day, amiright?). But reading one book in about two months is totally realistic, right?
But I want to talk during the Live Event too!
You can if you are selected as a Co-Host for the Live Event. But if you are NOT, there will also be a phone line where you will be able to call in and talk with us at certain parts of the call as well! So even if you aren’t a co-host you will STILL be able to participate in more ways than just the Live Chat. Yay!
What if I don’t want to read the book?
If you don’t really like to read but like the concept, you can come on in and listen in as we talk about the book and its learnings. I’m sure you’ll learn a good amount even without reading the actual book. OR if you’d like to come and see what it’s all about and then decide whether you’d like to read the book, this works too. You can be an active participant or a fly on the wall, whichever you prefer. All are welcome!
What if I can’t make it?
Still sign up! The call will be a Google Hangout on Air and it will be available for viewing at any time afterwards as well. The chat will remain open as well as I know there will always be some people who won’t be able to attend but will want to chat and participate. Even if you can’t participate in the Live Event, you can watch it on your own time and get inspired and motivated by our discussion anyway! It’s a win-win situation.
So…Will I see you there?
The Live Event will take place on Thursday, September 4th at 8pm CST!
I sure hope so, I would love to see you there! Make sure to sign up in the sign up box under this post if you haven’t yet. Otherwise, how will you remember when we meet? Once you’re good and signed up, invite at least ONE of your friends to join the party.
